70% of managers questioned by the Chartered Management Institute for its 6th annual business continuity survey of UK businesses cited IT and telecoms failure as the top threat to their organisation.
In terms of actual downtime, the most common sources of disruption to the running of their business in the last 12 months were the loss of IT and telecoms.

Phoenix Disaster Recovery Solution

The Simdex Phoenix solution has been developed to provide a Disaster Recovery system for a 1 or 2 server, small/medium sized business environment.

A typical scenario might be a Microsoft Small Business Server providing network services including MS Exchange and SQL along with an Applications Server hosting crucial business applications.

If either of these servers fail, although you no doubt have a backup regime in place, it may be 2 or 3 days before the server hardware is repared and your system is back up and running. Even then, the data will only have been restored to the point of the previous backup. Clearly, if your backups run overnight, and your system goes down at 4pm, you will have lost the majority of a days data.

In our experience of network maintenance, we are aware that most businesses struggle with even short periods of downtime. Just consider the disruption even a simple reboot of your servers causes. Now imagine being without your server for a day or more. On top of that, consider the effect of several hours lost data once the server is back on line.

The Phoenix system is based on virtual server and network mirroring technology. We will create a mirrored image of you servers which are replicated in real-time

In the event of a failure, it is a simple process to activate the mirrored server. Your users will typically be working again within 5 minutes of a server failure with no loss of data whatsoever.

We can offer this solution for a surprisingly competitive price. Typically, we can implement Phoenix in a 2 server scenario for around £3500 including hardware and installation/setup.
